Facts about the genus Choloepus, the two-toed sloths

Choloepus is more commonly found in zoos than Bradypus, as the later has a low survival rate in captivity outside of the tropics.

Baby two-toed sloths are weaned from their Mamas milk after six weeks but remain with their Mothers for another five months.

Physical Characteristics: Two-toed sloths are approximately two feet long with virtually no tail, and they weigh 9-18 pounds.
